MEDIA REGISTRATION
Thank you for your interest in the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC). In order to facilitate your coverage of NCYC and to expedite on-site credentialing, please register using the link below. Also, be sure to check the Requirements for Media Participation prior to registering, as you will have to affirm that you will comply with these as part of registration.
As the primary participants of NCYC are high-school age youth, this process will assist the NFCYM with our mandate to create a safe environment for our participants. NO media personnel will be allowed into the secure NCYC areas (Long Beach Convention Center) without official NCYC Credentials.
REQUIREMENTS FOR MEDIA PARTICIPATION
ADULT CODE OF CONDUCT
In connection with participation in this conference as a member of the media, you must agree to:
- Exhibit the highest ethical standards and personal integrity – Conduct myself in a professional manner, free from all forms of physical, psychological, sexual, and emotional intimidation, harassment, and abuse
- Limit contact with participants to that which is appropriate to my role at the event
- Avoid taking unfair advantage of any relationship for my own benefit/the benefit of my employer
- Share concerns about suspicious or inappropriate behavior with event staff
- Report any suspected abuse or neglect of a minor
- Accept personal responsibility to protect minors and adults from all forms of abuse
COVID PROTOCOLS
- Upon picking up their credentials, media representatives will need to certify that they can show proof of either testing negative for COVID-19 within 72 hours prior to arrival in Indianapolis or full vaccination against COVID-19, if requested.
- All participants will be required to wear a face covering (aka, mask) that covers their nose and mouth while in the Long Beach Convention Center, except during designated breaks and while actively eating or drinking in the designated areas.
- Face covering should have two (2) or more layers of breathable fabric, which completely cover the nose and mouth, are secured under the chin, fit snuggly against the face without gaps, and have a nose wire to prevent air leaking from the top of the mask. Face shields alone, masks with exhalation valves, single-layer bandannas, bandannas that open below the chin, single-layer gaiters, scarves, and costume masks are unacceptable.
- NFCYM reserves the right to eject, rescind NCYC credentials, and bar from entry (with no right to refund) anyone who fails to abide by the COVID-19 mitigation protocols, the appropriate codes of conduct, or the behavior guidelines. Responsibility for transportation home remains with the participant or his/her guardian/chaperone.
- Full COVID mitigation details are posted on the main NCYC page.
