MEDIA REGISTRATION

Thank you for your interest in the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC). In order to facilitate your coverage of NCYC and to expedite on-site credentialing, please email Natalie Ibarra, Communications Manager for NFCYM at [email protected]

*Also, be sure to check the Requirements for Media Participation prior to registering, as you will have to affirm that you will comply with these as part of registration.

As the primary participants of NCYC are high-school age youth, this process will assist the NFCYM with our mandate to create a safe environment for our participants. NO media personnel will be allowed into the secure areas without official NCYC Credentials.

REQUIREMENTS FOR MEDIA PARTICIPATION

ADULT CODE OF CONDUCT

In connection with participation in this conference as a member of the media, you must agree to:

  • Exhibit the highest ethical standards and personal integrity – Conduct myself in a professional manner, free from all forms of physical, psychological, sexual, and emotional intimidation, harassment, and abuse
  • Limit contact with participants to that which is appropriate to my role at the event
  • Avoid taking unfair advantage of any relationship for my own benefit/the benefit of my employer
  • Share concerns about suspicious or inappropriate behavior with event staff
  • Report any suspected abuse or neglect of a minor
  • Accept personal responsibility to protect minors and adults from all forms of abuse

COVID PROTOCOLS

COVID-19 is everywhere. Exposure is an inherent risk in any public location where people are present. NFCYM cannot guarantee that NCYC participants will not be exposed to COVID-19. 

NFCYM is committed to the safety and well-being of all NCYC participants. Our COVID-19 policies, including those concerning vaccines and masking, will match the requirements set forth by the local health officials.  

At this time, participants will not be required to mask or to produce proof of vaccination or a negative test. These requirements may change as guidelines change. 

NFCYM reserves the right to amend these protocols based on local requirements and recommended best practices in place at the time of NCYC.

ABOUT NCYC

The National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) gathers thousands of Catholic teens, parish youth ministry coordinators, bishops, pastors, parents, school campus ministers, adult chaperones, coaches, scout leaders, and diocesan leaders from across the United States. Sponsored by the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM), the three-day experience offers an opportunity for young people to encounter Christ, experience Church, and be empowered for discipleship. Mari Pablo

Mari Pablo is a proud Hispanic and cradle Catholic whose life was wrecked in the best possible way when she finally decided to stop fighting and surrender it all to Him. Mari has joyfully worked in youth ministry for over fifteen years, both as a youth minister and theology teacher, and as a presenter for Ascension Press. Mari has a deep love for food but an even greater love for Christ and is dedicated to helping others encounter Him.

2023 Host

Sr. Josephine Garrett, CSFN

Sister Josephine is a native Texan, raised baptist in Houston Texas. Jesus called her to religious life in 2011 and in 2020 Sister made her final vows as a Sister of the Holy Family of Nazareth. She ministers as a licensed mental health counselor, and also serves on the community vocations team and as a national speaker.
