We see your effort, your desire to follow Christ and the real struggles that come with it. In this honest and supportive session we’ll talk about three common roadblocks that make living your faith tough: friends who pull you away, falling into the same sins, and feeling like two different people at church and school. Your anxiety, depression, learning difference, or diagnosis doesn’t define you. Neither do your talents, grades, popularity, or secrets. God sees so much more in you, and for you. Sometimes, we just need help seeing ourselves the way He does. Leah and her mom, Cathy, will share their journey through anxiety, a dyslexia diagnosis, and other family changes, and how they learned to see themselves—and each other—through God’s eyes. Along the way, they discovered helpful coping strategies, found strength in their parish community, and built stronger relationships with one another and with God through prayer and the sacraments. They’ll share practical tools and hard-won wisdom so you can discover hope, healing, and the truth of whose you really are.

In popular culture, marriage is portrayed as temporary, restrictive, and contractual. A cinematic and emotional end is romanticized in media but there’s a bigger story to be told here. The Sacrament of Marriage is the beginning of a joy that far surpasses anything that can be captured in the verse of a song, page of a book, reel or movie screen. It’s an extraordinary vocation and the normative way to holiness. Using theology, philosophy and lived experience, learn why marriage is beautiful, joyful and a very real opportunity to pursue the will of God in every day life.

We will explore global trends in the mental health of young people in a data-driven way, diving into areas such as resilience, concentration and creativity. Hearing from young people themselves we will examine what are some of the causes of the huge increase in poor mental health and wellbeing. We will then deep dive into the riches the Catholic faith has to offer the conversation. Through the lives of the saints and scripture, through art and community, we will unwrap how practices and concepts that we may take for granted as part of a lived life of faith, may well be the key to vastly improve the wellness of the young people we serve.

Drawing from her own journey and years of experience in youth ministry, she offers a vision for accompaniment rooted not in perfection but in presence. Through humor, vulnerability, and practical tools, participants will be reminded that you do not have to be cool or have everything figured out; you just have to be there. If you have ever wondered whether your role in a young person’s life really matters, this talk will renew your hope and purpose.
