Pope Francis’ Message to Young People

Pope Francis reminds us in his post-synodal exhortation to young people, Christus Vivit, “Christ is alive! He is our hope, and in a wonderful way he brings youth to our world!” Here are a few of his insights on the significance of the accompaniment and vocational mission of youth, not only in our Church, but in the whole world.

Christ Will Never Abandon You!

The love of Christ is unconditional. He is always with you, no matter how far you may wander, no matter how many times you may fail. The Risen Lord is there — calling, waiting for you to return to Him and start over. He will restore you.

The Youth of Christ Teaches Us

Jesus, coming into the world as just an infant, is inspiring for young people who are “developing and preparing to take up their mission in life,” as Pope Francis tells us. The youth of Christ teaches us that growing in relationship with the Father, being part of a family, being open to the Holy Spirit — are all aspects of carrying out the mission of our faith.

The Church Is Full of Young Saints

The Church is young! Look to the many young people who have died martyr’s deaths and have become “precious reflections of the young Christ.” Look to their radiant witnesses and be encouraged in your faith!

You Are The “Now” of God

Youth is now! Young people are not simply the future of our world — they are its present. Our world and society are enriched by what young people offer — young people encourage growth in family life, society, and the Church as a whole!

The Need For Youth Ministry

Changes in society and culture throughout the years have greatly impacted youth ministry in the Church. In some communities, it can be a challenge to find youth programs that meet the needs of youth today. But the Holy Spirit is working — the proliferation of groups and movements for young people in the Church is on the rise. We must remain open and docile to the work of the Holy Spirit to continue to reach youth and lead them to Christ.

We would love for you and your teens to accept this invitation and embrace the opportunity to deepen your faith and light up your hearts to become true missionaries of Jesus Christ.

Come to NCYC 2022 and awaken your faith! Will you accept Pope Francis’s invitation?
